The city is blending its annual New Year's Eve family event -- for this year only -- with the Olympic festivities taking place around the arrival of the Olympic Torch Run in Kitchener on Dec. 27, en route to the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, B.C.
While there will be no formal program at city hall on New Year's Eve, the public can ring in the new year on the Civic Square skating rink, which will remain open until just past midnight. The Olympic Torch Relay will arrive in Kitchener on Dec. 27, and will depart again on Dec. 28. Join us from 5-8pm at Kitchener City Hall for family entertainment, group dance performances, appearances by local Olympic athletes, Interactive school displays and the arrival of the Olympic Torch!
Amalgamating the festivities will make the occasion even more memorable for residents who take part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
